In a nutshell, we have had a trying year. That is not to say it was a bad year, just hard. We have alot to be thankful for. Our family is all healthy and safe. Our faith has grown. We have a home and cars and everything we need. We have great friends who did more for us than we would have ever expected or asked for. We added a beautiful grand daughter to our clan.
As usual, my plate was full with home, kids, homeschool, church, and volunteer commitments. We had a potty training toddler and a new baby. I was providing care for my nephew and my grandson. That made for a very crazy mom some days.
Jayson and Dalton played baseball and participated in swim team, and Dalton played soccer.
Cameron moved in with us in February, adding another body to the chaos.
We were involved in a minor traffic accident in April with Allyson behind the wheel, everyone was fine but of course there was insurance and court issues to deal with.
Allyson graduated in June so we had a couple months of cramming as she finished high school, we prepared transcripts, and completed mountains of college paperwork.
Patricks family experiences two car accidents, another pregnancy, and some personal problems.
Jayson gave us a scare in October when he was hit by a car while riding his bike and had to be air lifted to the trauma center. We had two more visits to the emergency room to round out the year, Maddox for a cut on his face and Allyson for a kidney stone.
We also had our share of minor illness and financial difficulties.
I am certainly ready to move on to 2009 and a clean slate.

It's 2 am somewhere
More accurately, it is 2 am here, in Delaware. And instead of being snug in my bed, I am sitting at the computer while my youngest plays at my feet. How did this unlikely scenario transpire? I wish I knew. He has been running a fever since Thursday, so 3 days now. We put the other kids to bed and dosed him up with Motrin to get ready for bed. After it kicked in, he decided he was feeling much better and it was time to get 3 days worth of pent up energy out. Lucky me.
On the bright side, I took it as a sign to set up this blog while I had few distractions. I have been blogging at a popular homeschool website, but have thought about branching out on a more all purpose medium for awhile. So the time has come. Welcome to my brand spanking new blog. I may not ever say anything profound, but you may find my crazy busy life mildly amusing. And who knows, maybe I will pass on something of value from time to time.
